The Name Yahweh
And Yahweh said
moreover unto Moses, Thus shall thou
say unto the
children of Israel, Yahweh ELOHIM of your
fathers, the ELOHIM
of Abraham, the ELOHIM of Isaac,
and the ELOHIM of
Jacob, has sent me unto you: this [is]
my NAME forever,
and this [is] my memorial unto all
generations.
(Exodus 3:15)
Who hath ascended
up into heaven, or descended? Who
hath gathered the
wind in his fists? Who hath bound the
waters in a garment?
Who hath established all the ends of
the earth? What
[is] his name, and what [is] his son's
name, if thou canst
tell?
Does the Almighty
have a NAME? Can we call The
Almighty Yahweh by
generic titles such as "Lord" and
"God"? Or
has HE revealed HIS NAME to us in HIS
Word? If so, does
HE expect us to use the NAME by
which HE called
HIMSELF? Let’s look to The
Scriptures in order
to find the answers to these
questions. Let him
that has ears to hear, hear!
"THUS SAITH
Yahweh"
THE NAME GIVEN
And Moses said unto
ELOHIM, Behold, [when] I come
unto the children
of Israel, and shall say unto them,
The ELOHIM of your
fathers hath sent me unto you;
and they shall say
to me, What [is] his name? What shall
I say unto them?
And ELOHIM said unto Moses, I AM
THAT I AM: and he
said, Thus shalt thou say unto the
children of Israel,
I AM hath sent me unto you. And
ELOHIM said
moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou
say unto the
children of Israel, Yahweh ELOHIM of
your fathers, the
ELOHIM of Abraham, the ELOHIM
of Isaac, and the
ELOHIM of Jacob, hath sent me unto
you: this [is] my
name for ever, and this [is] my
memorial unto all
generations. (Exodus 3:13-15)
And Yahweh spoke
unto Moses, and said unto him, I
[am] Yahweh: And I
appeared unto Abraham, unto
Isaac, and unto
Jacob, as ELOHIM Almighty, but by
my NAME Yahweh was
I not known to them? (Exodus
6:2,3)
Sing unto ELOHIM,
sing praises to his name: extol him
that rideth upon
the heavens by his name YAH, and
rejoice before him.
(Psalm 68:4)
Now therefore, what
have I here, saith Yahweh, that my
people is taken
away for nought? They that rule over
them make them to
howl, saith Yahweh; and my name
continually every
day [is] blasphemed. Therefore my
people shall know
my name: therefore [they shall know]
in that day that I
[am] he that doth speak: behold, [it is]
I. (Isaiah 52:5,6)
HIS NAME FOREVER
Thy NAME, O Yahweh
[endureth] forever; [and] thy
memorial, O Yahweh,
throughout all generations.
(Psalm 135:13)
Yahweh…this [is] my
name forever, and this [is] my
memorial unto all
generations. (Exodus 3:13-15)
OTHER NAMES
FORBIDDEN
Thou shalt not take
the NAME of Yahweh thy
ELOHIM in vain: for
Yahweh will not hold him
guiltless that
taketh his NAME in vain (Or falsify, as in
Deut 5:20). (Deut
5:11)
And in all [things]
that I have said unto you be
circumspect: and
make no mention of the name of
other g-ds, neither
let it be heard out of thy mouth.
(Exodus 23:13)
That ye come not
among these nations, these that
remain among you;
neither make mention of the name
of their els, nor
cause to swear [by them], neither serve
them, nor bow
yourselves unto them…. (Josh 23:7)
Their sorrows shall
be multiplied [that] hasten [after]
another [ELOHIM]:
their drink offerings of blood will I
not offer, nor take
up their names into my lips. (Ps 16:4)
Ye shall not add
unto the word which I command you,
neither shall ye
diminish [ought] from it, that ye may
keep the
commandments of Yahweh your ELOHIM
which I command
you. (Deut 4:2)
Now therefore, what
have I here, saith Yahweh, that my
people is taken
away for nought? They that rule over
them make them to
howl, saith Yahweh; and my name
continually every
day [is] blasphemed. (Isaiah 52:5)
With these
scriptures in mind, are we allowed to use the
titles
"God" and "Lord" in place of the proper NAME
of our Father
Yahweh? These terms have both been
shown to be the
names of pagan deities! "L-rd" is after
the Etruscan house
deity, Larth. The term also refers to
"baal",
which is shown in the Scriptures to be a false
deity.
"G-d" is a Germanic deity referring to sexual
union. This meaning
is still evident in the Dutch and
German
"gade". The astrologers of Babel called Jupiter
(Zeus) by the name
"Gad", which has, over the years,
transformed into
the now accepted "G-d". Both of
these terms have
become common usage, although they
are definitely
pagan deities and should NOT be used in
reference to the
Almighty Yahweh!
And if it seem evil
unto you to serve
Yahweh, choose you
this day whom ye
will serve; whether
the els which your
fathers served that
[were] on the other
side of the flood,
or the els of the
Amorites, in whose
land ye dwell: but as
for me and my
house, we will serve
Yahweh.
Joshua 24:15
For all people will
walk every one in the
name of his el, and
we will walk in the
Name of Yahweh our
ELOHIM Forever
and ever.
Micah 4:5
