Prime The Pump

Pro 7:1-3 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments

with thee. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the

apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon

the table of thine heart.

I would like to examine in this teaching the relationship between

the heart and the mouth. Yahweh has commanded us to write HIS

commandments upon our hearts. The Hebrew word for

commandments here is Mitzvoth:

H4687 mitzvah

Brown Driver Briggs Definition:

1) commandment

1a) commandment (of man)

1b) the commandment (of Yahweh)

1c) commandment (of code of wisdom)

In Proverbs 3:1-4 Yahweh tells us further that we should:

...forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to

thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy

neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find

favour and good understanding in the sight of Yahweh and man.

How important is it for us to "write the commandments upon the

table of our heart?" We see here in these verses that if we will do

so that we will have long life AND Shalom (Peace - Nothing

Missing; Nothing Broken) in our lives. I, for one want that

blessing to come upon my life. How about you friend? Do you

want to continue walking in defeat, uncertainty, sickness, poverty

and failure in this life? Or would you like to walk in the "fullness

of joy?" Now you are probably saying to yourself, Pastor, no one

can have blessings in their life all the time. We will always be

attacked by the wicked one with accusation and condemnation and

guilt! Friend, the devil may attack you, but you are "More than an

overcomer!"

Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors

through him that loved us.

Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and

by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto

the death.

How do we overcome the wicked one? Read it with me - out loud!

You need to hear yourself say this, over and over again. I

overcome the wicked one, the devil, by the blood of the lamb, by

the Word of my testimony, and that I love not this life unto the

death! Yahushua promised us that we have all power of the

wicked one in our life.

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents

and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing

shall by any means hurt you.

Will we walk in that power, or continue to allow him to defeat us?

It saddens me that so many believers today are walking around

defeated all the time. Friend... You don't have live this way any

longer! You ARE MORE than a conqueror through the power of

Yahushua in you!

Ok you ask, so if I can do this....Please tell me how. I'm sick and

tired of being sick and tired. I don't want to live life "broke,

busted, and disgusted" anymore. How do I get out of the cycle

that I have been in?

Well, the first thing you need to realize is that you didn't get to the

place where you are today overnight. It has been a continual

process throughout your entire lifetime. But if you can identify that

process and how you got to where you are today, then you will be

far along the road to turning your situation around. It might not

happen tomorrow, but if you continue to do the things that we are

learning here today you will begin to walk in victory and power!

So let's look at what we have been doing all of our lives to get

ourselves to the place where we are right now. When you were

small certain seeds were planted in your life. Now I hear you

asking, 'I have seeds in me?' Yes you absolutely do! These seeds

are the words that have been spoken to you by others all through

your life and the words that you have believed and spoken

yourself.

Luke 8:11 The seed is the word of Yahweh.

While this is a great truth of Scripture, it is only half of the Truth.

We need to be wise to discern all of the Word of Yahweh. The seed

of Yahweh's Word is good seed that brings life into our situations.

But when we look at Proverbs 18 we see that there is also bad seed

that we can plant which does not bring life, but rather death into

our situation.

Pro 18:20 - 21 A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of

his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love

it shall eat the fruit thereof.

So, in reality, the very words that we speak create life or death in

our situations. But how does this relate to the Scripture we looked

at in Proverbs 3 & 7 that told us to write Yahweh's commandments

on our hearts? Well that is what we need to examine and begin to

put into action in our life! As we go through the rest of this

teaching keep in mind that we are looking at the relationship

between the heart and the mouth. This is critical to understand, for

if one only has the Word in his heart, and not his mouth he is a

hearer and not a doer of the Word. Likewise if he has the Word in

his mouth, but it is not etched upon his heart, then it will not work

for him either. Notice it tells us in Romans 10:8 that we have to

have the Word of Yahweh in our hearts and in our mouths for it to

have any avail in our lives.

Rom 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, [even] in thy

mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we

preach;

Yahushua said it this way in Mark 11:22-24:

And Yahushua answering saith unto them, Have faith in

Yahweh (Or Yahweh's kind of faith). For verily I say unto you,

That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed,

and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart,

but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to

pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto

you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye

receive [them], and ye shall have [them].

Notice in verse 23 above Yahushua said three times that we

have to say it, and also believe it! If we are not saying and

believing it's not going to work for us. We must have a balance

between saying and believing. And we need to know how that

occurs so that we can do it in our life. For unless we speak

Yahweh's Word and believe it in our heart, we can never receive

from Yahweh. This is exactly how you were "Born Again" and it is

how you receive anything you need to be an overcomer in this life.

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Master

Yahushua, and shalt believe in thine heart that Yahweh hath

raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Can you see it? Confess with your mouth and believe in your

heart. This is the key to receiving anything from Yahweh. So how

do we do this? In order to explain the process I want to give you an

illustration of how a pump works. When you put a well on your

property it may go into the ground 200 feet or more to get to the

water source! The well has to go deep into the ground, and the

Word of Yahweh has to go deep into your heart. At the top of the

well you put a pump that will pull the water from under the ground

up to the top. So far we have a well, with a pump. But if we just

turn the pump on, do you know what will happen? Absolutely

nothing! Before the pump will properly work it has to be primed.

You do that by pouring water into the pump to fill the "vacuum"

that is filled with air. Then the pump will begin to pull the water

from under the ground for you.

Psalm 45:1 My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the

things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the

pen of a ready writer.

Remember that Yahweh told us in Proverbs 3 & 7 that we are to

"write the commandments on our hearts?" We do this by using

our tongue as a pen to write Yahweh's Word on our heart, in our

Spirit man. The Messiah explained it in this fashion in Matthew

12:34-36:

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good

things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth

speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart

bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil

treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That

every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account

thereof in the day of judgment.

Now here is where the problem comes in. Most of our life,

especially before we become a believer, we have spoken idle

words. We see from the context of what Yahushua is saying that

idle words are words that bring death into our situation instead of

bringing life. So we need to begin to turn our speech around and

speak only the Word of Yahweh! When situations arise, find out

what the Word says about them and begin to speak the Word

instead of speaking about the situation. Since we have been trained

otherwise for all of our life, this may not be an easy task. We will

have to be conscious of every word that we speak for a time. This

is "priming the pump" of our heart with the fresh "Water of the

Word." It is Yahweh's Word and HIS Word alone that will bring

life to you and the situations that you are in.

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth

nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and

they are life.

Since Yahushua said HE only spoke the Words of Almighty

Yahweh, then all of the Word of Yahweh will bring us life. That

word life in the Greek is "zoe", meaning an abundant, secure, and

prospering life! Life in every area of our existence - Spiritual,

Emotional, Mental, and Physical. We need to prosper in this life so

we can overcome the wicked one friend. The devil and his children

should never walk in more victory than a "son or daughter of

Almighty Yahweh!" But in order to walk in this abundant life we

need to begin speaking the Word of Yahweh, and stop speaking the

words of the devil. Yes, that is right, the devil has words and he is

planting them in your mind all the time. Words of fear, words of

doubt, words of failure, words of defeat! That is why Shaul told us

in 2 Cor 10:3-5:

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

(For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty

through Yahweh to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting

down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself

against the knowledge of Yahweh, and bringing into captivity

every thought to the obedience of Yahushua.

Can you see it? We need to replace (bring into captivity) every

thought contrary to the Word of Yahweh and replace it (cast it

down) with that Word that will deliver us! Begin today to speak

Yahweh's Word in your life. You may find in the beginning that is

a real chore. Remember that it is the devils job to come and try to

steal that Word (seed) you are planting. But just keep planting, and

watering that seed and it will grow into maturity. You will reap a

harvest of good things in your life if you don't grow weary and if

you faint not. Begin to prime the pump of your heart with the

Word. As you speak the Word out loud it will get down in your

heart and build faith inside of you that can accomplish great things.

Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the

Word of Yahweh.

We have to speak the Word of Yahweh so that we hear it with our

own ears. Then faith will arise in our hearts. Keep putting the

Word in your heart until your situations begin to change friend.

Don't give up. Don't allow a word contrary to Yahweh's word to

come into your mouth any longer. Only speak the Word of

Yahweh. Never speak about the mountains in your life, speak to

them! They will move out of your way and you will walk in

victory all the days of your life!

Keep Priming the pump!
